Founded in 1988, Siska Aurand Landscape Architects, Inc. is a firm dedicated to providing creative and innovative site design. Leading a staff of seven, Mr. Aurand, Principal, is directly responsible for design and quality control on all projects.
Siska Aurand is able to provide superior site and master planning services in a qualitative and timely manner. The firm offers a full range of landscape architectural services from concept planning to construction administration. We have successfully completed many governmental projects at the local, state, and federal levels, and are proficient at designing within mandated standards. The firm is committed to ensuring that all design work be implemented according to plans and specifications.
The staff has an intimate knowledge of climates, soils, and plant materials to ensure successful completion of the client’s goals, both in the present as well as long-term. The size of the firm allows for efficient communication and personal attention devoted to each project.

Meet the Team
C. Douglas Aurand is president of Siska Aurand. Prior to starting Siska Aurand, he worked as project manager for two Norfolk, Virginia Landscape Architecture firms. He also taught landscape architecture at Oklahoma State University. He is the author of Fountains and Pools: Construction Guidelines and Specifications. He is an expert in water feature design. An avid gardener, Doug currently serves on the following community boards: City of Norfolk Design Review, Norfolk Botanical Gardens Board of Directors, Norfolk Botanical Gardens Landscape Committee, Fred Huette Foundation Board of Directors, and as an advisor to the Virginia Professional Horticultural Society. Doug received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Penn State University in 1978, and completed his Masters in Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia in 1980.
Josh Mullet-Cline is a Landscape Architect who joined Siska Aurand in 2010. He received his Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University in 2005. Josh spent the first five years of his career in Boulder, Colorado, where he experienced design on planned residential communities, neighborhood design, community parks, streetscapes, urban design, entry signage, water features, open space, and trail systems. Siska Aurand provides Josh with new design opportunities on master planning, residential, commercial, aquatic design, and planting design projects. With the capability to take projects from conceptual design through construction administration, Josh has worked with a variety of public and private projects throughout Virginia, Colorado, Idaho, and California. He is registered in the state of Virginia.
John Watson was born and raised in Virginia Beach, and returned to Hampton Roads when he joined Siska Aurand in 2008. Prior to that, he spent two years working for Studio 39 Landscape Architects in Alexandria, Virginia, where he worked on large scale urban infill developments and multi-family residential projects. Siska Aurand provides John a platform with which to explore different avenues of design through multiple scales and project types. On any given day, John can work on small, intimate courtyards to large multi-family amenity projects or university and hospitality projects. John enjoys spending his free time with his family on the golf course or in the yard. John received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and Design from Auburn University in 2004, and completed his Masters in Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning from Auburn University in 2006. John is registered in the state of Virginia.
